September a month of chores, organization and hurricanes is the best way to describe our time.

Windless installation

1ST John had to wait, and wait for all the necessary parts to arrive and line up. Then he was able to complete the installation of the windless with some help from the local welder.

It is up and running. The new chain has been attached along with the regular anchor.

Darts night

At my, now regular, Tuesday morning coffee group there was discussion about: “was there anything fun to do?” The suggestion was to go to the Yacht Club for one of their regular evening functions. The Tuesday Darts night was the suggestion. Everyone seemed to agree.

We met up with Alexia and walked over with her. Once there Konane and her husband Rob arrived, the others didn’t show up. We had a very good dinner and then it was time to join the Yacht club members and play darts.

Yes, it was fun, but I am one lousy dart thrower. I managed to hit the board about 1 time out of every three throws. John was very good as were the regular darts players. We enjoyed the evening!

Daily walks

Regular walks every day off around the resort,

beach and……

immediate area is a part of each morning.

The sights are much the same each day…. across the bay,

fishermen of differing types on the pier,

around the grounds

and flowers.…it’s a quiet time of year so not many folks about.
Dinghy around the area.

Time for the dinghy engine to be given a blast. We decided to have a look around the few water ways near us.

It was as normal very hot and sunny. The area is populated by the wealthy, some say they are narcos, but who knows.

Really large luxurious homes line the water ways, along with the large motorboats some with a ridiculous number of engines.

Hurricanes
1st Polo

This has been the month of hurricanes quite a number have passed for out to sea, but the 1st to venture close was Polo.

We were not really affected by the winds and rain, yes, we had some, but it was no worse than a regular squall. However the seas, the high, high tides and the surge were incredible.

We have had non stop very high tides for ages now. The surf powering in and pounding the shore has been incredible.

And then came Rachel.

Again no nasty winds just a bit of rain and some cloudy days which are a very welcome relief from the sun and high temperatures.

However the seas and surge have been quite incredible. The docks sway and rock, the boat feels as if we are at sea.

Then going along the channel and seeing the size of the seas crashing ashore and the damage to beach front I quite shocking.

The beach is disappearing, the pier we walked along is out of bounds and must be badly damaged.

The area where the resort held functions by the beach has sink holes in it due to the viciousness of the sea and surge.

And very sadly, turtle eggs and babies are cast all along the beach front. Killed by the seas.

New camera

I was using my camera when suddenly it started creaking! This was very bad news, I have to have a good functioning camera for many reasons. So, began the process of getting a new camera. My son, the camera expert professional photographer helped by selecting one.

Ordering it from Mexico was a challenge as the regular sources didn’t have what I needed. So I went right to the maker, Panasonic. I had never associated them with camera production, but sure enough my LUMIX was rated as the top camera 2026 for what I needed.

It took several weeks and a whole pile of agitation but finally it arrived……just in time for our newest adventure…..
The Copper Canyon and beyond…….
